CISA and MITRE Caldera are now publicly accessible as an extension of the open-source Caldera platform. This allows the security team to run some automated protocol emulation exercises that are specifically focused on threats to Operational Technology.
Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute are doing a partnership to develop the first Caldera for Operation Technology extension.
MITRE is managing an associate research and development center for the Department of Homeland Security.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is increasing the strength of critical infrastructure.
Yosry Barsoum, vice president, and director, of the Center for Securing the Homeland at MITRE said, “Protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure is essential. With Caldera for OT, we are pleased to partner with CISA to help defenders of operational technology exercise and improve the defenses of these critical systems”.
Everyone can access the Caldera for operation technology through Github. This is now an open-source for all. Caldera for operation technology will continue in the future for better environments, protocols, and attacks.
The CISA’s partnership in the first set of modules and the future Caldera for Operational Development open-source is appreciated by MIRTE. MITRE hopes the partnership develops and releases the next set of Caldera soon.
